Casa Matea is located in Quinta da Aldeia, a settlement that is part of the village of Figueira. The quinta is located on the eastern edge of the village, which is not far from the N125 main road. Figueira lies between Raposeira (to the west) and Budens (to the east).
Watch out: Figuera is a popular place name in Portugal, so make sure you select the correct Figuera when entering the navigation.
Coming from Sagres/ Vila do Bispo/ Raposeira,
At the traffic circle, turn towards Figueira and follow the main road Largo Primeiro de Maio past a campsite (right), two restaurants/bars (left), the bus stop (right) and a graffiti wall until you turn left after a fenced garden (village school) into a small cobbled street. This leads past the village church and ends at a T-junction, where you turn right to drive another 100 meters to Quinta da Aldeia.
Coming from the direction of Lagos/ Luz/ Budens,
At the Salema/ Figueira traffic circle, follow the road, which is bordered by the nature reserve on the right and left, until you can see the village. The first house on the right is the small village school, which is fenced in and surrounded by a large garden with mature trees. Turn into the first street on the right before the school and follow the cobbled road. This takes you past the village church and ends at a T-junction where you turn right and then drive another 100 meters to Quinta da Aldeia.
